The venue was filled with laughter throughout the evening, and many people came together to enjoy the performances.

STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO was created not only as a comedy event, but also as an opportunity for people to learn about the Kumamoto earthquake and find a simple, enjoyable way to support ongoing relief efforts. World in Peace joined the event to introduce our activities in Kumamoto and share information about the support currently being carried out.

At the Osaka event, ¥29,071 was donated to support Kumamoto.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who came to the event despite the rain and chose to support Kumamoto.

Connecting Laughter with Support

This event reminded us once again that there is no single way to contribute to disaster relief.

Learning about a disaster. Sharing information with others. Attending an event.

And making a donation within your means.

Each of these actions can become a way of supporting affected communities.

By using something as accessible as laughter as an entry point, STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO created an opportunity for people to learn about what is happening in Kumamoto and take action in their own way.

We believe this was one of the most meaningful aspects of the event.

Looking Back on the Two Events

With the Kyoto and Osaka events now complete, the total amount raised through STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO was ¥92,445 and USD 20.

The Kyoto event raised ¥63,374 and USD 20, while the Osaka event raised ¥29,071.

Donations collected in cash will be used in full for support activities. For donations made through other payment methods, such as credit card payments, the final amount used for support will be the amount remaining after payment processing fees.

*The USD 20 donation will be exchanged into Japanese yen at a later date and used toward support activities in Kumamoto.

We are truly grateful to everyone who contributed through these events.

Continuing Support for Kumamoto

Although the STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO events have come to an end, our support for Kumamoto continues.

World in Peace has already provided emergency toilets to areas affected by water outages as part of our Kumamoto relief efforts. We are also currently planning hot meal distribution support, while continuing to assess local needs and determine how we can provide meaningful assistance.

The donations raised through STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO will be used for medium- and long-term support related to the Kumamoto earthquake.

The needs of affected communities can change over time. For this reason, we will continue to monitor the situation and direct support where it is needed most.

STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO Comes to an End

The STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO series has now concluded after two events in Kyoto and Osaka.

Throughout the two events, comedy became a bridge between people and disaster relief—creating a space where people could have fun, learn about Kumamoto, and contribute to its recovery.

The events may be over, but the connections created through them do not have to end here.

We hope that the interest, support, and connections created through STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO will continue to grow and contribute to ongoing support for Kumamoto.

From laughter, to connection, to support.

World in Peace will continue working to support communities affected by the Kumamoto earthquake.

Thank You to Everyone Who Made This Possible

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kyosuke, who planned and organized STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO, as well as all of the comedians who performed, the venue teams, staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the Kyoto and Osaka events possible.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended the events and everyone who made a donation for Kumamoto.

Your support will be carried forward into our ongoing relief efforts.

Thank you for standing up for Kumamoto with us.

On September 4, 2026, the second part of the charity stand-up comedy event “STAND UP FOR KUMAMOTO” was held at […]

[1

post-2432","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","en-US
["GET
