Youth Engagement

At World in Peace, we believe that young people are the driving force for a better tomorrow. By stepping into the frontlines of social challenges, learning, and taking action, they grow into the next generation of leaders. We provide opportunities for youth to explore their potential, actively participate in society, and work together to create a better world.

The Journey of World in Peace

2020
First Steps as Middle School Students

During the COVID-19 pandemic, shortages of medical supplies became critical. As middle school students, we looked for ways to help using what we had at hand, creating face shields and medical gowns from garbage bags and clear folders. We delivered 287 face shields and 22 gowns to medical institutions in the Kansai region. In November of the same year, we also organized a fundraising campaign to collect monetary donations, allowing hospitals to purchase the supplies they truly needed.

2021
Connecting Hearts

With visitation restrictions in place, many children in pediatric wards were unable to spend Christmas with their families. To bring them some joy, we hosted an online Christmas concert, featuring special guests. The livestream was viewed 3,000 times, bringing smiles to children at two medical institutions in the Kansai area.

2023 – 2024
Expanding into Disaster Relief

We launched the Disaster Assistance Team (DAT), a youth-led initiative, to actively respond to disasters. Support was provided during: The Turkey earthquake (Feb–Jun 2023), Afghanistan earthquake (Oct 2023–Jan 2024), The Noto Peninsula earthquake in Ishikawa (Jan 2024) Through these efforts, over 3,200 beneficiaries received aid, and more than 1.3 million yen in donations were raised.

2024 – Present
Establishing World in Peace

To address a broader range of social issues beyond disaster relief, we officially founded World in Peace, a youth-led NGO. Our goal is to create opportunities for young people to engage with social challenges and to nurture the next generation of change-makers shaping a better future.

What we believe in

At World in Peace, we face challenges—from local issues to global crises—head-on and turn solutions into action. This is not about doing something extraordinary. It’s about making helping others a natural part of everyday life. Small steps, taken consistently, have the power to transform society. That is why we want to make it normal for young people to raise their voices, work together, and actively shape a better future.

World in Peace provides opportunities for youth to engage with society and contribute to the world. Through the connection of individual actions, we aim to create a peaceful future where everyone can live safely and with dignity.

What we do

Fair Trade Product Sales

Connecting everyday life with fair trade

World in Peace sells fair trade products such as coffee, chocolate, and tea to raise awareness about international humanitarian support and the importance of fair trade. For children, we offer interactive learning experiences, like stamp rallies that teach the chocolate production process. For adults, we provide coffee and tea tastings. Events have been highly successful, with all prepared products selling out, and proceeds supporting local producers and the World in Peace’s programs.

Youth Volunteers

Empowering young people to change the world

Youth take the lead in various activities at World in Peace. They plan and run events, organize fundraising campaigns, and contribute directly to support initiatives. Students interested in our mission also independently carry out activities such as bake sales, and volunteer at events, helping to expand the circle of support and make a tangible impact.
