Become a Member of World in Peace

Roles are created together with you

At World in Peace, we don’t predefine roles and then recruit. Instead, after orientation, we work with each person to find the role that best fits their skills, passions, and aspirations. In some cases, a brand-new role may emerge that perfectly matches your strengths and enthusiasm.

The kind of people we are looking for

At World in Peace, what matters most is passion and action, not academic background or titles. We seek individuals who can face the countless challenges of the world head-on, collaborate as a team, and take steps—one by one—to shape the future.

We are looking for people who:

Think outside the box and break free from conventional thinking

Act with foresight, not just for today but for the future

Respect diverse values and work cooperatively with the team

Find joy and fulfillment in helping others, and genuinely care about making a difference

Embrace challenges and change, and maintain a mindset of continuous learning

FAQ

I don’t have strong academic or professional experience. Can I still apply?

Absolutely!

At World in Peace, we value passion, initiative, and flexible thinking more than academic background. Your desire to “give it a try” is the first step—your enthusiasm matters most.

Which role should I apply for?

Roles are not predetermined.

After the orientation, we’ll work with you to find a position that fits your skills and interests. We create roles that match each individual’s strengths and passions.

How much time do I need to commit?

We use a flexible schedule.

You can participate around school or work commitments. While deadlines and milestones need to be met, you can choose times that fit your lifestyle. Some projects may require short periods of intensive involvement, but we will coordinate schedules in advance.

What level of language proficiency is required?

At minimum, Japanese or English, or both.

Since much of our work involves international collaboration, multilingual participants are especially welcome.

Can I receive a certificate of participation?

Yes.

Participants who complete the required activities can receive a certificate. It can be used for submission to educational institutions or kept as a personal record. Conditions apply, and details will be explained during orientation.

Can adults participate?

Yes.

While our organization is youth-led, we welcome adults who support our mission. Age or status is not a barrier—if you want to contribute, you are welcome.

Can I start as a short-term volunteer and later become an operations member?

Yes!

If you want to first understand the organization or feel starting as an operations member is too challenging, beginning with short-term volunteering is recommended.
Later, you can step up to an operations role based on your interest and suitability.

Can I participate to build my resume for university or job applications?

Our activities exist to support people in need. Using the work or the people we serve solely to boost your resume is not the approach we seek. Naturally, participating will contribute to your growth and future abilities, but the starting point should always be a genuine desire to act for others.

We welcome applicants who respect both their fellow team members and the people they are helping.
