Following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that struck on January 1, 2024, the Noto region was hit again on September 21, 2024, by torrential rains caused by a stationary front. The disaster led to severe flooding across Wajima City, Suzu City, and Noto Town, including damage to temporary housing and welfare facilities, forcing many residents—still in the midst of recovery—to once again lose their homes and livelihoods.
In response, World in Peace collaborated with local organizations to deliver 720 body towels and 1,800 units of emergency toilets to alleviate the difficulties caused by prolonged water outages. To reduce isolation and stress among residents in temporary housing, World in Peace partnered with NPO CONCENT to support community events such as magic shows, massage sessions, and paracord craft workshops.
These activities were designed to promote emotional healing and the restoration of community ties, contributing to both livelihood recovery and social well-being in the affected areas. Moving forward, World in Peace remains committed to listening to the voices of local residents and providing compassionate, people-centered support that meets their evolving needs.
