Period:March 27, 2025 – April 17
Locations:Damnak Chang Aeur Village, Koh Poan Island
Support Provided:Distribution of educational materials, improvement of learning environments, and cash assistance
World in Peace carried out support activities in two educational facilities in Damnak Chang Aeur Village and Koh Poan Island, Cambodia, with the goal of expanding educational opportunities and improving learning environments.
In the community kindergarten of Damnak Chang Aeur Village, learning backpacks were distributed to 18 children, each containing notebooks, pencils, colored pencils, water bottles, whiteboard markers, and pencil cases. To further enhance the classroom environment, lighting and electric fans were installed, providing a more comfortable learning space where children can concentrate despite heat and dim lighting. In addition, cash assistance was provided to teaching staff to ensure the continuity of educational activities.
Meanwhile, on Koh Poan Island, World in Peace supported a small school attended by 27 children aged 5 to 15 from families engaged in fishing and eco-tourism — the only educational institution on the island. The school is minimally equipped with just a blackboard, plastic chairs, and a tin roof, and its teachers possess only an elementary-level education (around Grade 6). Despite these limitations, the children’s motivation to learn remains remarkably strong. To support their learning, educational backpacks similar to those distributed in Damnak were also provided.
Since the program coincided with the Khmer New Year, World in Peace also prepared small gifts such as water guns and sweets to bring moments of joy to the children.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of Mr. Nathan Kou and his team, along with the generous contributions of multiplesupporters — not by World in Peace alone, but through a shared commitment to empowering children’s education in Cambodia.
